PHILIP HANBY LL.B, F.C.I. Arb, Solicitor

Phil qualified in 1974 and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in 1995. He has worked in private practice for 30 years following short spells in Local Government and prosecuting for the Police. He acquired the practice in January 2009.

Phil specialises in civil litigation generally to include contract disputes, debt collection, employment and landlord and tenant matters.

His hobbies are soccer, golf, shooting and real ale.

Legal Executive Advocate

Member of Resolution Samantha qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 1997 and went on to qualify as one of the countries first Legal Executive Advocates in 2008.

Samantha specialises in all areas of Family Law including Public and Private Law Children Act Proceedings. Cohabitee disputes, Divorce and Finances, Contact and Residence disputes and cases involving Children's Services. Samantha has a close working relationship with West Lindsey Domestic Abuse Service, and regularly represents clients who have been subjected to domestic violence.

Samantha regularly represents clients in Court proceedings, financial disputes and injunctions.

Both private and publicly funded work is undertaken and appointments can be made at our Gainsborough office.

Samantha is a member of Resolution, an organisation which promotes disputes being conducted in a non confrontational way whenever possible.

LLOYD EDWARDS LLB (Hons) Solicitor, Higher Rights Advocate

Lloyd  joined Andrew Jay & Co in March 2007 having previously worked with a variety of firms within the Lincolnshire area. He specialises in criminal defence work and has represented people at virtually every Police Station and Magistrates Court in Lincolnshire. He is vastly experienced and adopts a friendly approach to clients. Lloyd obtained his Higher Courts qualification in 2010 and now regularly appears to represent clients in the Crown Court.

TONY CUNNINGHAM BA, Solicitor

Tony Cunningham is one of those few people who has been highly successful in two different careers. He was a professional footballer for 15 years, playing for a large number of league clubs including Newcastle, Manchester City, Sheffield Wednesday and Lincoln City.

He then qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 and has worked in Lincoln since that time, appearing regularly before Lincolnshire courts and Police Stations. He has bought the same traits of professionalism, determination and desire that he demonstrated on the football pitch to the legal profession. He is a hugely experienced Solicitor who maintains a fierce dedication to protecting his clients.

WARWICK TAYLOR BA (Hons), Crown Court Clerk, Police Station Representative.

Warwick's first job was working for a large law firm in Manchester before moving to Lincolnshire some 8 years ago.

In 2005 he successfully passed the Police station accreditation process. This enables him to attend people detained by the Police and advise them of their rights at any time of the day or night.

In 2006 Warwick joined Andrew Jay & Co. As their accredited Police station and Crown Court representative, he deals with a variety of cases from the straight forward to the very complex.

His interests outside his work are going to the gym, ninjutsu and spending time with his family.

DAVID EAGER LLB (Hons) London, Solicitor

David joined Andrew Jay & Co’s Criminal Department in May 2014.  He is the Head of the Department.  David qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and represents clients in all types of criminal cases in both the Magistrates and Crown Court.  Prior to joining Andrew Jay & Co David worked as a solicitor in private practice in Skegness dealing with cases before both the Magistrates and Crown Courts. 

He was one of the first solicitors in Lincolnshire to qualify as a Higher Courts Advocate and has represented clients in the Crown Court since 2006. His experience includes everything from road traffic cases to murder.

His interests outside work include theatre and the arts. He likes to keep relatively fit by taking part in Triathlon and Cycling. He has completed 3 full distance Ironman Triathlons and run the New York Marathon 3 times.

DAVE CLAPHAM LLB (Hons), Solicitor

Dave joined Andrew Jay & Co’s Criminal Department in June 2014. He qualified as a solicitor in 2005 after working for 15 years in the Magistrates Court and gained his Duty Solicitor Accreditation in 2009.

Prior to joining Andrew Jay & Co. Dave worked as an associate solicitor in private practice in Skegness dealing with cases before the Magistrates Court and representing clients at the Police Station.

His interests outside work include football, taking part in Triathlons, DIY and music (he was a singer in a band).

GEMMA WALKER Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Crown Court Clerk, Police Station Representative.

Gemma joined Andrew Jay & Co’s Criminal Department in June 2014 as an Accredited Police Station Representative and Crown Court Clerk.  An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives Gemma qualified as a Police Station Representative in October 2008 having previously been a Crown Court Clerk.  She has represented people at the police station for all types of offences ranging from theft to murder.

MATT TYE Police Station Representative

Matt joined Andrew Jay & Co’s Criminal Department in March 2009 as the Lincoln office receptionist, having previously worked in a completely different sector.  He has progressed throughout his time at the firm and qualified as a Police Station Representative in October 2014, meaning that he can represent clients at the Police Station.

In his spare time, Matt enjoys travelling, geocaching, looking after animals and keeping up with the latest technology.
