THE TEAM

MARK MCNEIL BSC (HONS), Solicitor And Higher Courts Advocate

Mark qualified as a solicitor in 2004, joined McNeil and Co in September 2016 and became a Director of the Firm in February 2020. In October 2020 he purchased the business and is now the Principal.  He is a Higher Court Advocate and as such he can represent clients from the police station through to the Supreme Court.  He has a wealth of experience in regard to all criminal offences and an enviable reputation as a passionate and persuasive advocate.  His record for helping drivers retain their licences is second to none.

Prior to joining McNeil and Co, Mark previously worked with a variety of firms within the local area.

Mark was a key member of the save Lincoln Prison campaign and was invited to Westminster to address government ministers against its closure.

When not at work Mark spends his time with his three young children.  Before studying law he graduated with a Biomedical Science Degree.

PHILIP DUBUT 

Philip is a Fellow of the Charterd Institue of Legal Executives with over 30 years experience in all areas of Family and Children Law. Philip is a member of the Law Society Family Panel  and also Resolution (Formerly the SFLA). 

Philip joined the team in April 2021 but previously worked for the company for over 20 years.

 NICHOLA SKAYMAN

Nichola joined the team in December 2020 having over 17 years’ experience in dealing with Children/Family cases.

Nichola has experience of representing parents in cases involving the Local Authority and Private Law disputes between parents and also immediate family members. Nichola has successfully represented Grandparents on applications for Special Guardianship orders and continues to provide this service.

Nichola has dealt with many High Court complex cases and continues to thrive on putting the best case forward for her clients.

Nichola undertakes her own advocacy within the County Court and Magistrates Court, Nichola tries to ensure continuity for her clients as much as possible.

Nichola has expertise and a passion for representing clients in Domestic Abuse cases and has a vast knowledge of this area of law, Nichola has dealt with some very complex cases where it has been necessary to make out of County applications to ensure the protection of her clients and their children.

Nichola is dedicated to her work and serving the local community.

LLOYD EDWARDS LLB (Hons) Solicitor, Higher Rights Advocate

Lloyd joined McNeil and Co in March 2007 having previously worked with a variety of firms within the Lincolnshire area. He specialises in criminal defence work and has represented people at virtually every Police Station and Magistrates Court in Lincolnshire. He is vastly experienced and adopts a friendly approach to clients. Lloyd obtained his Higher Courts qualification in 2010 and now regularly appears to represent clients in the Crown Court.

GEMMA WALKER ACILEx, Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Crown Court Clerk, Police Station Representative

Gemma joined McNeil and Co's Criminal Department in June 2014 as an Accredited Police Station Representative and Crown Court Clerk. An Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives Gemma qualified as a Police Station Representative in October 2008 having previously been a Crown Court Clerk. She has represented people at the police station for all types of offences ranging from theft to murder.

NEAVE SHORT 

Neave is a paralegal based in the family department, working closely with our solicitors to assist them in their duties. Neave joined the team in March 2021.
The role includes management of the processes included in the vast array of legal matters including private children proceedings, working on child arrangement orders, Non Molestation and Occupational orders, special guardianship orders and in the adoption field, including proceedings with an international element.  Neave’s  role is vital in communicating with clients, both in person and on the phone. She also assists fee-earners in the preparation of court documents and bundles in readiness of hearings.

 CHARLOTTE TOSSELL 

Charlotte joined the firm in 2014 as an apprentice. Charlotte is based in the Criminal Department, working closely with our solicitors to assist them in their duties. The role includes communicating with clients, both in person and on the phone and assisting fee-earners in the preparation of legal documents.
