Motoring offences
We offer fixed fees for some matters to help you budget for your case. Our fees for dealing with summary only motoring offences will vary, depending on whether the plea is Guilty or Not Guilty and the number of hearings involved. We will need to obtain all the facts and details of your personal circumstances and will liaise with the Court and the CPS in advance and on the day of any hearing.

Our fees will typically include:
• All telephone calls, letters and emails.
• Attendance/preparation.
• Considering evidence.
• Providing advice in relation to plea and likely sentence.
• Advice on whether an exceptional hardship, or special reasons argument should be made.
• Where we cannot anticipate the likely sentence, advice on the options available to the court in relation to sentencing.
• Representation at hearings at the Lincoln or Boston Magistrates Court.
Exclusions
Our fixed fees include the items detailed above, however there may be factors which would increase the fees involved in your case. Where there is likely to be any additional cost, we will make sure you are informed of this at the earliest opportunity and a clear estimate of those extra costs will be provided.
The following expenses are not included in our fixed fee:
• The cost of travelling to any court other than Lincoln or Boston. This would be charged at 45 pence per mile plus VAT and £50 per hour plus VAT travelling from Lincoln office.
• The costs of an expert report which may be required to support the defence.
• Obtaining witness statements, whether expert or other.
• Acting for you in an appeal.
Purchase of a residential property

If the property is freehold but subject to a service charge further fees will be payable to obtain such information from the Management Company/Manging Agents.
If the property is leasehold further fees will be payable dependant upon whether the property is held under a lease or a shared ownership
Additional fees may also be payable for obtaining a compliance certificate under the terms of a lease or preparing a deed of covenant.
None of above additional fees will be apparent under the sales documents have been received.
Sale of a residential property

If the property is freehold but subject to a service charge further fees will be payable to obtain information from the Management Company/Manging Agents to proceed with the sale.
If the property is leasehold further fees will be payable dependant upon what documents are required to be obtained from the Landlord and/or Management Company.
The Landlord and/or Management will also inevitably require a further fee for obtaining sales/assignment documents.
Re-mortgage of a residential property

If the property is leasehold further fees will be payable dependant upon what documents are required to be obtained from the Landlord and/or Management Company. A compliance certificate may be required which will incur further fees.
Wills

Prices for more complex Wills are prepared on a time basis and will be discussed at the time of instruction.
Probate fees
Probate charges are based upon a time basis and an estimate of costs will be discussed at the point of instructions.Probate charges are based upon a time basis and an estimate of costs will be discussed at the point of instructions.
Our charging rate is £200 per hour. Not all administration of estates are the same. An administration with minimal assets, one beneficiary and no property involved our charges will be at the lower end but an estate with a numerous assets, numerous beneficiaries and a property to be transferred or sold will be at the higher end of the charges.
Also if Inheritance Tax is payable or a claim for unused Nil Rate Band allocation is required further charges will be payable.
The lower rate would be somewhere in the region of £1,000 plus VAT plus disbursements and the higher rate would be somewhere in the region of £3,000 to £4,000 plus VAT
It is very difficult to be exact but indications can be given at the point of instruction.

Other probate charges
To apply for a Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration only: £400 to £500 plus VAT dependent upon information given.

Further fees will be payable to the Office of the Public Guardian but these will dependent upon each persons financial position. Further information will be given at the point of instruction.
To apply for a Deputyship Order: £950 plus VAT.
Other fees are payable for medical certificates and Court of Protection fees.
